Worked example
What an Offsite Ads order does to a $30 sale
This example uses Kepivo's US preset with $8 product cost, $1 packaging, and $4 seller-paid shipping. Change every value in the calculator above for your own order.
| Scenario | Offsite Ads fee | Net profit | Net margin |
|---|---|---|---|
| Not attributed to Offsite Ads | $0.00 | $13.70 | 45.7% |
| 12% Offsite Ads rate | $3.60 | $10.10 | 33.7% |
| 15% Offsite Ads rate | $4.50 | $9.20 | 30.7% |
How Etsy describes the two rates
Etsy currently says attributed orders use a 15% advertising fee when a shop has always made less than $10,000 USD in any consecutive 365-day period. After a shop reaches that threshold, Etsy describes a discounted 12% rate and mandatory participation for the lifetime of the shop.
Etsy also publishes a $100 USD cap on the Offsite Ads fee for one order. Kepivo applies that cap to the US preset and does not invent a fixed conversion for EUR or GBP.
Protect the profit you planned
Enter the profit you want from the order in the advanced section. Kepivo calculates an estimated item price that reaches that target after the fees and costs you entered. Compare that price with what buyers are willing to pay before changing a listing.
